Overview:

Skills Verification is offering a select number of Ghanaian youth a 100% scholarship to pursue a career pathway in Data Science and Web/Application Development through the Harvard-MIT edX platform.

What is edX?

What Skills Verification Will Do:

Who Qualifies for This Opportunity:

This opportunity is open to individuals who wish to acquire skills that can make them independent and proficient in today's IT-driven world. Applicants should be between the ages of 22 and 36 at the time of applying and must have at least a post-secondary education. Unemployed or underemployed degree holders are highly encouraged to apply.

This opportunity is available to individuals who are new to edX and cannot afford to pay for courses on the platform. If you can afford to pay for the courses or have previously taken courses on edX, please do not apply. You can however make use of the 80-90% discount, where you are not limited to the courses we have selected for this scholarship. You can contact us through mail or WhatsApp for more details.

How to Apply:

Since Skills Verification will process your application and make the payment on your behalf, participants must sign up for a new Gmail account and create a new edX account. These accounts should bear your real name so that certificates can be issued in your name. Please note that we will need the new Gmail account, the password for that Gmail account, and the password for your new edX account to process payment on your behalf. For this reason, applications with existing accounts will not be processed, as we cannot access existing email details or any confidential data or correspondence in your email. Ensure you do not activate two-factor authentication with your new accounts. These accounts should be dedicated to edX courses and Skills Verification. Applications from persons with accounts with other backup accounts that Skills Verification cannot log into will not be processed.

How will we select Scholarship Beneficiaries:

After submitting your application, an online exam date will be sent to shortlisted applicants. There will be no cut-off mark for the exam; depending on the available funding, the exam scores will be ranked, and selection will be based on the number of people we can sponsor and your position in the exam. For the sake of transparency, the scores will be available to all applicants.

What is Required of Successful Applicants:

Successful applicants will need a laptop or desktop computer to take edX courses; this is the responsibility of the applicant, not Skills Verification. While we will cover the entire cost of the courses as listed on the platform, participants will need to provide their own internet data to access and complete the online courses.
